Master Your Time During Exams
Time management is the single most important skill for competitive exam success. Here are proven strategies:
1. The 3-Pass Technique
First Pass (Easy): Go through all questions and answer the ones you know immediately. This builds confidence and secures easy marks.
Second Pass (Medium): Tackle questions that need some thinking but you are fairly confident about.
Third Pass (Hard): Attempt remaining questions with educated guessing if there is no negative marking.
2. Time Allocation Formula
Total time / Total questions = Time per question. For a 120-minute exam with 100 questions, you get 1.2 minutes per question. Allocate 60% time to Pass 1, 30% to Pass 2, and 10% to Pass 3.
3. Watch the Clock
Check time every 15-20 questions. If you are spending more than 2 minutes on any question, mark it and move on.
4. Practice Under Timed Conditions
Always take mock tests with a timer. This builds your internal clock and reduces exam-day anxiety.
